The Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos are playing live on the NFL schedule for Sunday Night Football and the NBC matchup starts at 8:30 pm ET and streaming online form the NBC Sports Live Extra website as Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning face off at Sports Authority Field at Mile High for the SNF game.
The Colts and the Broncos played last season in Indy for the first matchup with Manning and his old team and now they face off in Denver for the first marquee matchup of the season on Sunday night. The Colts come in as a sexy Super Bowl sleeper pick and the Broncos are one of the favorites after getting demolished by the Seattle Seahawks last season. The Broncos won 13 games and their division and they were undefeated for most of the season and now Manning and company come back after signing a number of free agents, including DeMarcus Ware and Emmanuel Sanders.
The Broncos are dealing with the loss of Wes Welker and they will need their WRs to step up and the addition of Sanders is big for Manning over this tough stretch of games. Welker was banned four games for his positive test and now he will miss the Colts game as well as the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks rematch from the Super Bowl is in Seattle and that is the top game of the weekend in Week 3 and that starts off a tough slate for the Broncos.
Last season Manning was amazing with over 5400 passing yards and he got a great season from Demaryius Thomas with 1400 yards and he will be expected to have another big season. The Broncos have the Jets after playing the Cardinals out of the bye week, while the San Francisco 49ers game in Week 7 is another big matchup. The team has the New England Patriots a couple weeks later and that is another Manning and Tom Brady matchup and that starts a three game roadie for the next stretch and four of the next five games.
The team has the Patriots, Oakland Raiders and the St. Louis Rams ahead of a home game against the Dolphins and then they play against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road at Arrowhead. The end of the season has the Bulls, away games at San Diego and the Cincinnati before a game to end the season at home against Oakland. The matchup with the Bengals is on Monday night football and the Broncos are expected to be one of the best teams at the end of the season in the AFC.
