The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins are playing on Monday night football live for Week 5 on ESPN and the game from FedEx Field starts up at 8:30 pm ET and streaming online from WatchESPN and ESPN Radio online as Russell Wilson and the Hawks take on Kirk Cousins and the Skins minus Robert Griffin III as these NFC teams clash in a playoff rematch from two years ago.
The Seahawks come into the game as the favored team and Washington comes in after getting killed against the Giants last week. The team has had a long break to get things in order and now Kirk Cousins will try and get things back to normal against the defending Super Bowl champions. Russell Wilson comes in after a bye week and that makes the Seahawks an even tough team to deal with. The team has already won over the Broncos and Packers this season and while they fell to the Chargers, that was in a streak of three games against playoff teams from last season.
The Seahawks have the chance to repeat for the first time since the Broncos did it with John Elway and they have the team and the personnel to get it done. Russell Wilson has been playing well once again this season and while the Seahawks have a very tough second half schedule, the team is in position to make a run again. The team has the toughest division in football with the NFC West and even with the Cardinals losing this weekend, if the Hawks win, all three of the top teams in the division will have the same amount of wins.
The 49ers have been up and down this season, but they have three wins and they always play the Seahawks tough. The team doesn't see San Fran until the end of the season and out of this stretch from the bye week they have three games away from Seattle over four weeks, with Dallas being the home game and the Redskins, Rams and Panthers on the road. The team has tough road games down the stretch, including against the Chiefs and the Cardinals. The team also has a home and home with the Niners over three weeks and the middle road game is a trip to Philly and the Eagles are currently leading the NFC East division with the Cowboys.
The Redskins have a tough schedule this season as well and they are about to start a stretch that could decide their season. The team has three games on the road in the next four weeks and that includes the Cardinals and Cowboys as well as the Vikings, while the home matchup will be against the Titans. The team has the Buccaneers and then back to back road games against the Colts and 49ers out of the bye week and towards the end of the season they have three straight divisional games to end the year.
The Seahawks are favored in this game and they come in after an overtime win against the Broncos. The matchup starts up at 8 pm ET with coverage on ESPN before kickoff around 8:30 pm ET with the Monday night football crew.
