The Denver Nuggets and the LA Lakers are playing live on the NBA Preseason schedule on Monday night from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego and the game is live at 10 pm ET on NBATV as the two west teams matchup and it has Kobe Bryant coming back after an injury plagued season for Los Angeles, while the Nuggs have Kenneth Faried back on a massive contract extension into the season.
The Lakers and Nuggets come into the season after disappointing runs last year and now LA has a new coach and a new outlook. The team has Kobe Bryant coming back healthy after missing basically all of last season and there are a number of new faces out there as well. The team brought in Jeremy Lin in a trade to play with Steve Nash and they also now have Carlos Boozer after he was hit with amnesty clause by the Chicago Bulls, adding some depth and veteran experience to the roster.
Bryant will be playing without Pau Gasol for the first time in years and that will be very different and it also could be an issue up front since he was able to do so much on both ends. Byron Scott comes in with the chance to reshape this team and he said that he plans on giving them a tough identity and while they may not be a championship team in the west, he wants to be a hard out for any team playing against the Lakers this season.
