Montreal Canadiens vs. Washington Capitals Live Stream: Watch Online Streaming NHL Game

Oct 09, 2014 06:49 PM EDT

The Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals are playing live on the NHL schedule for the opening of the season and the matchup from the Verizon Center starts up at 7 pm Et and has two top teams in the east meeting as Alex Ovechkin welcomes Max Pacioretty and PK Subban to DC to start off the hockey season and it will be streaming online from NHL.com.

The Capitals come into the game after winning their last preseason game and they have the Boston Bruins next and they come in after making some major changes this season. Ovechkin has plenty of pressure on him after the team faltered last season and now they are looking to get off to a good start in the Metro division. The Canadiens started the season with a win and they have the early lead now in the Atlantic division after a win over the Toronto to open the year.

The Canadiens come into the game after making it to the east finals last season and they lost that to the Rangers. The team has a heavy schedule to start, as they played against the Leafs and now have the Capos before a matchup with the Philadelphia Flyers and that will be on the road on Saturdays. Carey Price is one of the top goaltenders in the NHL and the team brings back Subban on a major deal after he had a breakout season.

Subban and Price were the main reasons why the team advanced in the playoffs and now they will try and end the Canadian Stanley Cup drought. Montreal was the last team to win one, so it would be fitting if they can make it back. The team played very tough against the Rangers and they ended up losing that series, but it really could have went either way with the way both teams played. The Canadiens are deep and they can score and with Price in the net, they always have a chance to win.

The team has a tough schedule to start the season with and after opening on the road in all of their first four games, the team returns home for the same amount. The team played against the Leafs to start and now they have the Caps and Flyers before matching up against the Lightning. The team opens at home against the Bruins and also has the Avalanche, Red Wings and Rangers after matching up in the playoffs last season before a three game Canada road trip with the Oilers, Flames and Canucks.

In other action, the Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins are playing live on the NHL schedule on Thursday and the game is from CONSOL Energy Center at 7 pm ET and has two of the best teams in the league matching up and this comes after the Pens were upset in the playoffs by the Rangers and the Ducks lost last season and now both are looking to start strong with Sidney Crosby leading the way in this matchup.
