The fantasy football Week 10 bye schedule is tough at QB with Tom Brady, Andrew Luck, Teddy Bridgewater and Philip Rivers on byes and owners should look at names like Joe Flacco, Josh McCown, Ryan Tannehill, Michael Vick and Kyle Orton as replacement options, as those players have the chance to put up points and could be decent spot starters this weekend.
This season Luck and Brady have put up some very good numbers and for Luck owners, they are losing a ton of points this week. Luck is on pace for over 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns and losing that for one week could mean disaster for fantasy owners. While names like Flacco, Tannehill and McCown are not going to put up huge numbers, there is a chance they can help make up for the absence of the bigger named players.
Flacco is the top option of the week and that is for a couple reasons. Flacco is not consistent, but he did toss five touchdowns back in Week 6 and he has a great matchup with the Tennessee Titans. Flacco comes in after passing for 303 yards and two scores last week and he has been solid over the past few games and now has a great matchup with the Titans. This season Flacco has twice as many TDs as picks and while the Ravens can be hit or miss fantasy wise, he is worth a flier this week.
Tannehill has come on as of late and he is also worth a look even against the Lions in Week 10, as they have a tough defense, but he has had a hot hand. The Dolphins shut out the Chargers and scored 37 points last week and Tannehill went 24-of-34 for 288 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions and he also added over 40 rushing yards and he could be a solid spot starter. Tannehill has 14 TDs and six picks and has been completing over 60 percent of his passes in eight games and he could be a solid option to come in for Brady or Luck for fantasy owners.
McCown has been up and down when he has played, but the Buccaneers are going back to him and he could be a surprise against the Falcons. Atlanta has been terrible this season and while McCown has just 420 yards in three games, he could breakout in Week 10. The team has Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson on the outside and that could be a major factor for McCown.
The Steelers have been playing very well and the Jets have been terrible, but that could mean NY is finally due for a solid game. The team is starting Michael Vick and desperate fantasy owners could look to him for a start. He did not turn over the ball last week and actually looked okay, putting up over 200 yards of total offense and if he gets into a groove, he could be a great pickup for fantasy owners as a bye replacement.
