The Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres are playing live on the NHL schedule on Wednesday evening and the game from First Niagara Center starts up at 7:30 pm ET and has the Habs coming in after a tough loss and they have been one of the best teams in the east and now they will go up against Buff on the road.
Carey Price and Max Pacioretty have been playing very well to start the season and until the latest couple of hiccups, the Habs have been one of the best teams in the NHL. The team remains in first place in the division in the Atlantic and they have an 8-4-1 record with 17 points, while Buffalo has not been good at all, with just three wins and seven points on the season.
Montreal comes in after a tough loss to the Chicago Blackhawks and Corey Crawford had 28 saves in the shutout and now the team will try and bounce back on the road. The team is ranked 27th in scoring and 22nd in goals per game and they are also ninth in penalty kill percentage. Last season Montreal was one of the best teams in the east and many see them as a sleeper for the finals this year. Last season the team lost to the Rangers in six games and now they are looking to make an impact in the east playoffs again.
The Buffalo Sabres come in after a win over the Detroit Red Wings in a shootout and now they face off against the Canadiens before a matchup with the Oilers. The Sabres come into the game ranked near the bottom of the league in most categories and they are 30th in scoring and 25th in goals against for the time being. The Canadiens opened the season with three straight wins and seven in the first eight games and while they have lost three in a row, they remain in first place. The team now has the Sabres and then plays against the Wild and Jets before a prime matchup with Bruins, who the Canadiens upset in the playoffs last season.
