The Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets are playing live on the NBA schedule on Friday night and the ESPN game is on TV from the Pepsi Center starting up at 10:30 pm ET and will be streaming online from the WatchESPN website as LeBron James and the Cavs try and bounce back from a tough start as they head home from a west coast trip.
The Cavaliers lost on a last second shot from Gordon Hayward and the Utah Jazz and after playing the Nuggets on the road, they will matchup with the Pelicans and Anthony Davis at home. James and the Cavs have been under intense scrutiny as the favorites in the eastern conference and they have had a hard time adjusting with James coming in this season. The team will get things together, but so far the results have not been great and they are 1-3 on the season.
James has stressed that the team needs to play with more cohesion and Kyrie Irving has been shooting way too much. Irving has gone seven quarters without an assists and the team is ranked 30th in dimes per game to open up the season. The team had just six assists in the last game and they need to play much better on offense and they will get the chance against the Nuggets, who are also 1-3 on the season.
The Cavaliers have had a hard start to the season and this is like what happened in Miami when LeBron first went there. Everyone freaked out and he preached patience and eventually everything was fine. Kyrie Irving has been putting up way too many shots and reports had James and Irving exchanging words after the latest loss and both came out to down play that. James is slimmer this season and he has to get used to that as well and he is still learning how to play with his new teammates and he is getting used to a new coach.
Irving had 34 points in the game against the Jazz, but he did not put up enough assists and the team is ranked last in the league in that right now and that is just not acceptable for a winning team. The Cavs play against the Pelicans next and that is after the Nuggets and that will be the first home game for the team since playing and losing to the Knicks. The team has lost two in a row and after coming home for the Pelicans they will have another road game with the Celtics.
The team has a nice long home stretch after that and they should be able to work things out during that time, although they have some tough teams there as well. The Cavs play against the Hawks and the Nuggets at home before LeBron hosts the Spurs after losing to them last year in the playoffs and then the team has the Wizards away before the Raptors, Magic and Wiz at home. The team has the Pacers to end the month and then plays against the Bucks and the Knicks. LeBron and company will right the ship, it just will take some time.
