The English Premier League table standings has Chelsea and Manchester City on top of the EPL into the New Year in 2015 and they are now tied on top over Manchester United, Southampton, Tottenham, Arsenal, West Ham, Liverpool, Swansea City and Newcastle United rounding out the top 10.
Chelsea lost over the New Years Day schedule to Tottenham in a wild match and Manchester City was able to win and now those two are tied atop the league standings. Chelsea was alone at the top for the entire season and they finally lost their first match in December and now they are all even with Man City. Each side has 46 points and they have a nine point lead on Manchester United in third place.
Manchester United has a one point lead over Southampton and they have been playing well for a long stretch now. The top five is rounded out with Tottenham for the moment after they won over Chelsea and they have a one point lead over Arsenal. The Gunners are sixth ahead of West Ham and Liverpool is in eighth with 29 points along with Swansea City. Newcastle is 10th ahead of Stoke City and Aston Villa, while Everton, Sunderland and Hull City are next in the standings.
The bottom part of the table has QPR, West Brom and Crystal Palace in ahead of Burnley and Leicester City at the end. Chelsea comes in after losing to Tottenham on New Years Day 5-3 at White Hart Lane and Man City was able to take advantage to tie things up at the top of the EPL table. Manchester City won over Sunderland on the same day and that put them on top with Chelsea over Manchester United. The second half with Man City and Sunderland saw five goals and Frank Lampard scored the winner in the 73rd minute of that matchup.
Southampton won over Arsenal and that was a big result for the team along with the Gunners and the standings are starting to take strong shape heading into 2015. Chelsea now has not won in two straight games after not losing all season until Newcastle in December. The team had a draw with Southampton and now they come in after the loss against the Spurs. Coming up the team plays Man City at Stamford Bridge and that will be a huge matchup now with the way the standings are.
