The Butler Bulldogs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish are playing live on the NCAA Tournament schedule for the Midwest region in the third round on Saturday night and the game on TBS on TV is live streaming from the March Madness website at 9:40 pm ET at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh for a 3-seed against a number 6-seed.
Notre Dame comes into the game after winning a close matchup against Northeastern and some have picked the Irish as a sleeper team in the tournament. But most have not picked the team to go too far, as anyone in the Midwest knows that Kentucky eventually will be lurking and that means the matchup to get into the Final Four will be very intriguing in this region. Butler has previously been the darlings of the tournament and they are 23-10 on the season out of the Big East.
Notre Dame went 14-4 in the ACC tournament and they were 30-5 on the season overall and they will rely on Pat Connaughton and Zach Auguste. Auguste was second on the team in assists this season, while Connaughton led the team in assists and was second in scoring. The Irish come into the game at 12th in the nation in scoring with 78 points per game and they were ranked second in the league in field goal percentage and they come in having won six games in a row.
The team won the ACC and won over Duke and UNC and now they have the chance to make a run into the Sweet 16. Butler comes into the game after winning over Texas and they last lost to Xavier in the Big East before that. The team went 23-10 this season and they went 12-6 in conference play and now they have a tough matchup with the Irish.
