The Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays are playing on the MLB schedule for game two of their series at Tropicana Field and the matchup has Wei-Yin Chen and Nathan Karns facing off in the pitching matchup and starts up past 7:10 pm ET as the AL East teams matchup.
The Orioles came into Opening Day dealing with injuries and they have JJ Hardy and Matt Wieters on the DL and now they have to find a way to get past that. The Rays also started the season off with some injuries and Desmond Jennings is out for the team. The Orioles won the first matchup against the Rays with three home runs and Travis Snider led the way with three hits and he also had a nice diving catch.
The Orioles won the first matchup 6-2 and that was a welcome result after the offseason, as the team lost two of their best players in Nick Markakis and Nelson Cruz. Chris Tillman had the Opening Day start for the Orioles and he had a solid day with four strikeouts and just four hits allowed. Tillman allowed one run with the home run to Evan Longoria and now the Orioles are looking for another win.
Alejandro De Aza, Steve Pearce and Ryan Flaherty all hit home runs for the Orioles and they once again will rely on the long ball this season. The Orioles are looking to keep things going from last year and they come in with the Rays series to start and they will open at home later in the week.
