Manchester United Transfer News: Fellaini Linked with United, Moyes Admits Midfielder Could Leave in January

Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini could leave the club as early as January, if the club received a good offer, manager David Moyes admitted.

Fellaini has been linked with a move to Chelsea for the last couple of seasons, with Manchester United also reportedly keeping tabs on the all-action midfielder.

The need for a midfielder of Fellaini's ilk is more necessary for United and after the man-of-the-match performance he put on against the Red Devils in this season's opening English Premier League encounter, Sir Alex Ferguson will be quite keen to look at possibility of bringing in the Belgian international to Old Trafford.

Moyes admitted Everton will find it difficult to hold onto the 24-year-old, if a suitable offer was tabled. "I won't say there's no chance in the next window because everybody is available throughout the world if the offer is right," Moyes is quoted by the Daily Mail.

"But one thing I know is the transfer window is closed so he's not going anywhere right now."

Moyes insisted he had no problems with clubs being linked with his best players, and was confident that Everton had the upper hand when it came to negotiating a fee for Fellaini, who recently signed a long-term contract.

"I have got no problem if other clubs start circling for my players. None at all," he told the Daily Mirror.

"What I do know is that they can't come in and take any of my players until January and we are only in September.

"Whatever happens now, whatever Fellaini says, he is here for at least the next four months. He might be here even longer than that, I don't know.

"What I do know for certain, though, is that Fellaini has got a five-year contract here.

"So clubs can circle, but the window has just shut, and we're in a strong position as far as his contract is concerned."

Spanish giants Real Madrid are also reportedly monitoring Fellaini, with a view to a summer transfer.
