This game is over... check out the results of this game here.

The New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers will meet at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT for Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.

Things are not looking too bright for the Yankees as they find themselves down 0-2 in their best of seven series.

They have struggled driving in runs and they find themselves wtihout their leader Derek Jeter. The question becomes, who will step up for the Yankees?

Ichiro is probably the best hitter the Yankees have in their lineup. Oh, and you can't forget the ageless Raul Ibanez.

Comparing the Yankees' hitting compared to the Tigers is unfair. The Tigers have taken advantage of mistakes and have played small ball in the two games they won.

Miguel Cabrera has not hit a homer, but he is batting 3/8 with two runs scored and an RBI. Delmon Young can be considered a Yankee killer as in two games he is 3/10 with one homer and four RBI. He has been the team's best hitter.

The Tigers head home where they were 50-31 during the regular season, 52-31 if you add their two victories at home in the first round agianst the Oakland Athletics.

Justin Verlander has not been the same postseason as he has been in the past. This year he has been untouchable. Verlander came into the 2012 postseaon with eight starts under his belt and a 5.57 ERA with a 3-3 record.

In his two starts this season Verlander seems to have everything under control. His ERA is 5.01 points lower. That is right. His ERA is at 0.56. In 16 innings pitched he has just surrendered one run on seven hits. Verlander has walked five and struck out 22.

Things are not on the Yankees' side to say the least. Phil Hughes will take the mound for the Yanks and has pitched well so far in the postseason.

He went 6.2 innings while allowing a single run in Game 4 against the Baltimore Orioles.

First pitch will be a little after 8 p.m. ET.
