The Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings are playing live on the NFL preseason schedule in Week 2 and the matchup is from TCF Bank Stadium at 8 pm ET as Derek Carr, Amari Cooper, Teddy Bridgewater and Latavius Murray get in action, while Adrian Peterson likely will sit for this game for the Vikes and coverage is live from NFL.com.
The Raiders are coming into the season with high expectations with Carr coming in for Year 2 and he looks like a solid starter moving forward after the rookie season he had. The team has Amari Cooper coming in as a top five draft pick and expectations are very high for him and he could be a star in this league. The running back position has Latavius Murray coming in to start and he will likely be in ahead of Trent Richardson and Roy Helu on the depth chart.
Jack Del Rio takes over and that should help the defense greatly. The team has Khalil Mack looking like a very strong player and Malcolm Smith could start after being signed in the offseason. The Raiders may not be close to the playoffs yet, but they have the chance to improve greatly this season and while they have a tough division, they could be in the mix in the AFC if things go right. Carr helped the Raiders win some games last year with his arm and he has the chance to be even better this season.
The Raiders come in after a win over the Rams in the preseason and they play the Vikings ahead of games against the Cardinals and Seahawks. The team opens the season with the Bengals and then plays the ravens, Browns, Bears, Chargers and Broncos on the schedule. The Vikings have Adrian Peterson coming back and that is the main story this season and Jerick McKinnon should start in the preseason. The team won over the Steelers in the HOF game and the team had the Buccaneers and won that game and now they play the Raiders, Cowboys and Titans before opening the season against the Niners.
