There will be a Game 7!
The San Francisco Giants do not know how to quit. They won Game 6 by the score of 6-1 behind another strong performance by Ryan Vogelsong.
He pitched seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out nine. Vogelsong bettered his Game 2 performance and, more importantly, kept the Giants' World Series hopes alive.
The Giants backed the strong performance early, giving Vogelsong enough runs to work with. They struck on a groundout RBI by Buster Posey in the first, scoring Scutaro.
Scutaro then highlighted the Giants' four-run fourth inning with a two-run double. He later came around to score his second run of the game. He finished the game 2-4 and is now hitting .458 in the NLCS.
The Cardinals could not get any base runners on base in this game, therefore making it difficult to score runs.
Game 7 will take place tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET. The Cardinals will have Kyle Lohse on the mound. The Giants will have Matt Cain on the mound.
Lohse comes with the advantage as he was untouchable in Game 3 going 5.2 innings allowing just one run on seven hits and five walks. He only struck out two, but gave the Cardinals enough pitching to get the win.
Matt Cain will have to either hope he gets run support or pitch better as the Giants' ace has allowed three runs in his three starts in the playoffs.
