The Lakers started last season 0-5 and they are looking to avoid that this year and they come in the 29th ranked scoring defense in the league. The team now has a comparable team to play with since the Nets are also winless and this would be a good way to start the road trip for the Lakers. Byron Scott said that the team is close to turning things around and he spoke about the verbal altercation the team had on the bench against the Nuggets, saying that passion was good for the struggling team.

The Nets are scoring below 90 points per game in the past four games and they will try and get things going against the Lakers. The Lakers will focus on Brook Lopez up front, as he had a strong game on Wednesday with 27 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Lopez is off to a solid start to the season and he will be looking to keep it going against the Lakers.

Bryant has not been shooting the ball well, while Russell has had some problems with turnovers and he has not found his offensive game yet. Russell is still very young and Byron Scott said that he will learn how to overcome things when his shot isn't falling in. Jordan Clarkson is currently leading the team in scoring and he comes in after scoring 30 points against the Nuggets.
