The Miami Dolphins are trying to remain in the AFC wild card chase against the Cowboys on Sunday and the team is looking for Ryan Tannehill to have a strong game in Week 11. Lamar Miller, Jarvis Landry, Jay Ajayi, Rishard Matthews and Jordan Cameron are solid fantasy start options for Sunday and those players have the chance to step up for Tannehill.
Miller has continued to be the starting back for the Dolphins, but Ajayi has performed well the past two weeks and could see some increased carries. According to the Palm Beach Post, head coach Dan Campbell said that Miller will stay as the lead back heading into Week 11, but he also added that Ajayi has earned some more touches with how he has played over the past two weeks. Ajayi was out to start the season after injuring his ribs in the preseason and he has given a nice spark to the running game the past two weeks.
Ajayi actually had more rushing yards than Miller on Sunday despite having far fewer carries, but Miller remains the best option to start for Miami. Miller comes in after putting up 93 total yards against the Eagles and he has been doing a good job this season being a receiver out of the backfield. Miller has 33 catches this season and last week he had six catches for 50 yards and a TD to go along with his 50 rushing yards. Ajayi has 89 yards in two games on just 11 carries and he is averaging eight yards per rush, which could force Campbell to give him more chances behind Miller if he keeps running the ball well.
Ajayi was wildly productive in college and he will try and keep that going as he plays for the Dolphins. ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker wrote before the game last week that Ajayi could see some redzone carries for Miller and that is something to keep an eye on against the Cowboys on Sunday. Rishard Matthews is a solid fantasy option for owners, as he has 42 catches this season for 647 yards and four touchdowns.
Jarvis Landry remains the number one receiver, but Matthews has elevated himself past Kenny Stills and Greg Jennings as an offensive option. Matthews had five catches for 93 yards last week and over the past three games he has put up 16 receptions for Miami. Matthews is a solid fit for a WR3 or a flex option for this week for fantasy owners against the Cowboys.
DeVante Parker has not been able to get on the field on a consistent basis for the Dolphins and he could be out this week after not being targeted against the Eagles. Parker was a first round pick this year and after having surgery this summer, the wideout has been limited for most of the year. Parker has just four catches in eight games played and he has not played many snaps, opening things up for Matthews, who has made the most of his chances. Matthews was almost released earlier this year, but he has emerged as a solid number two behind Jarvis Landry.
