NFL Fantasy Week 11: Matt Jones Starts Over Alfred Morris For Redskins? Kirk Cousins Contract Option, RG3 Out 2016? Christine Michael Signed

The Washington Redskins may try and keep Kirk Cousins with a contract extension and if that happens, it likely means Robert Griffin III will be gone in 2016. The Redskins have Matt Jones over Alfred Morris as the better fantasy football start option for Week 11 against the undefeated Panthers.

The Redskins are in the mix for the NFC East division this year and they have a tough test in Week 11 with Carolina on the schedule. Cousins has been playing well over the last stretch of games and the team will need him to perform like he did last week against the Saints for a chance to win. Cousins had four touchdown passes against New Orleans and now he has a much tougher defense to face in the Panthers.

Cousins has been starting for the Redskins all season and head coach Jay Gruden clearly prefers him at quarterback over Griffin. According to Pro Football Talk, Gruden spoke about the future with Cousins and said that the quarterback is "a guy we'd like to keep around" moving forward. Cousins will be a free agent coming into 2016 and Gruden was asked if there had been any talks yet with Cousins, but he said that it will be handled "in house."

Cousins is having a solid season and he comes in playing well over the last three games, throwing for eight touchdowns and one interception. Cousins has been doing a better job at taking care of the ball and now he has 14 touchdown passes and nine picks in nine games played this season. This has been the longest stretch that Cousins has been given to play in his career and he is completing 67 percent of his passes and has helped keep the Redskins in the playoff race. The better Cousins continues to play, the more likely RG3 will be out of Washington in the near future.

The Redskins have Matt Jones and Alfred Morris coming in after productive games against the Saints and coming into Week 11, Jones may be the better fantasy option for team owners. Morris had 15 carries for 92 yards against the Saints and that was his first double digit carry game since Week 6. Jones had 186 total yards against the Saints with a touchdown and he has had double digit carries in three of the last four games and is a better upside option.

The Redskins have added another running back to the mix, with the team signing recently released running back Christine Michael to the practice squad, according to Pro Football Talk. Michael was previously in Dallas after being traded from Seattle and he now has landed in Washington. PFT writes that Michael has a connection to general manager Scot McCloughan, as he was in Seattle when Michael was drafted. The website writes that Michael could have a place on the team next season with Morris set to become a free agent.
