With rumours surrounding a return to Manchester United not abating for Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese admitted his "love" for the club, while refusing to discuss the status of contract negotiations with Real Madrid.
Ronaldo has been tipped to make a move back to Old Trafford, with David De Gea and Nani possibly going the other way, but while not denying anything was on the pipeline, Ronaldo also chose to keep mum on his future with Real Madrid.
"This has already been spoken about and I'm not going to discuss my contract renewal anymore," Ronaldo told reporters.
"It's not the most important thing at the moment, the most important thing is winning our next matches.
"We're fighting for the league, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. It's not important until that's over. It's important we stick together."
Ronaldo also spoke of his affection for his former club, who he will face in the last-16 of the Champions League next month.
"I still have great feeling of friendship and love for them, they're a team that have done a lot for my career," he said.
"It's a team that has played a large part in my career. People there know me well and the people I know there have a place in my heart.
"But now I play for Real Madrid. There will be some sadness, but I want to win and score, and do my best."
Ronaldo hinted all was not well within the confines of Real Madrid, with some players at odds with manager Jose Mourinho.
"It's difficult when a top team is not at its best," Ronaldo added. "There is more tension and the players also feel it. We are affected by it but that's life and that's football and we have to face it together.
"Nothing in life is easy. You have to try and change it. It's going to be an exciting year and we are going to improve a lot."
Along with Ronaldo returning to the English Premier League, another man who enjoyed much success in England has also been tipped to return. Mourinho's future with Real Madrid is up in the air, and the Portuguese is expected to leave the Spanish giants at the end of the season.
However, Ronaldo still believes Mourinho is the right man for the job at Real, despite receiving widespread criticism for dropping Iker Casillas in their last La Liga match.
"Well, I'm not sure. It depends on the situation at the club," Ronaldo said of Mourinho's future. "I would be very happy because he's the right trainer for the job. A top trainer for a top club. I think he'll stay but everyone decides their own future."
