The Atlanta Braves get set to face the Washington Nationals in the first of many games the N.L. East rivals will play this upcoming season. Don't miss the game and check out the live stream available of this matchup. First, let's look at the pitchers and possible lineups in store for tonight as first pitch is a little after 7 p.m. ET.
The Braves are winners of six straight games and they will try to continue this winning streak against the 2012 division champion Nationals. Can the Braves surpass the Nationals, who made pretty interesting moves over the break bolstering their pitching and hitting.
Evan Gattis might possibly get the start at first base as Braves manager, Fredi Gonzalez, looks to have Gerald Lair catching behind the plate for pitcher Julio Teheran who takes the ball for Atlanta in his second start of the year. Chris Johnson, who had been playing first base since Freddie Freeman went on the disabled list, might be on the bench. Tonight, he could come off the bench for Gonzalez.
As for the Nationals, they are 7-2, in second place in the N.L. East and looking to take control of the division early in the year. Ross Detwiler will look for his first win of the year against the rivaled Braves.
The White Sox are fresh off a sweep against the Chicago White Sox and will look to make it four straight wins at the beginning of the season. If the Braves are ale to win tonight, they'd win their seventh straight game improving to 9-1 on the year. It is recommendable for the Braves to win this ball game because they then face the Stephen Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez in the following two games.
