If you can't watch the live action between the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs online, then listen to Game 2. The Grizzlies are somewhat up against the wall, but they are a dominant team on the road and have made great adjustments throughout their series in the past. Here are the keys for both squads as we bring you a link to Game 2's radio stream.
The Grizzlies need... It is a requirement... It is a must that Zach Randolph plays his heart off in Game 2. Not to say that he didn't give it his all in Game 1, but Lionel Hollins has to find more creative ways to get his second big man the ball. The Grizzlies will not win this series if Randolph is only contributing two points and seven rebounds per game. That is a fact. Randolph had been able to bully his way to the bucket and was able to dominate the glass against the L.A. Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder, but the Spurs are placing Tim Duncan, a savvy veteran, on Randolph and Zebo was having a hard time getting established on the paint.
The Grizzlies need to do a better job on the offensive boards. They won that battle 10-7 in Game 1, but they need more. They have to rely on Tony Allen to take away passing lanes as the Spurs had 20 assists in Game 1 and they have to take away the three-point line, though a 14-threees performances is hard to duplicate.
The Spurs have to continue keeping Randolph away from the basket. The Grizzlies will be tentative about giving their big man the ball if he's too far away from the basket. Randolph has proven that he can hit the outside jumper, but the Grizzlies would prefer if he was around the rim instead of roamin the perimeter.
Tony Parker seems to have the offensive running smoothly as everybody on the Spurs is getting involved. It seems that if you get some playing time for the Spurs, you will eventually have a time to score and contribute in one way or the other. Tracy McGrady was the only Spur not to score in the game, but even he grabbed two offensive rebounds. Hey, it's very similar to what Jason Kidd contributed to the New York Knicks in the playoffs.
