Serena Williams vs. Maria Sharapova Score: Stats, Updates of French Open 2013 Women's Singles Finals

Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams faceoff in the Women's Finals at the 2013 French Open. Check out the score with updates and stats as these ladies will battle for this grand slam championship.

Sharapova is the defending champion of the French Open. Williams hasn't played at a Roland Garros finals since 2002 when she last won the French Open. Williams is the No. 1 ranked female in the tournament while Sharapova is the defending champion. After capturing the French Open last year, Sharapova has won all the grand slam titles.

Williams is coming back to Roland Garros in grand fashion. Last year, she lost in the first rounds and many were questioning her future in the game. However, Williams bounced back in Wimbledon, London, U.S. Open and the ATP Championship. She lost in the semifinals at the Australian Open, but it was due to injury. If Williams can stay healthy, as she has in this tournament, she has a chance to become the 2013 French Open winner.

As far as head-to-head, Williams dominates the matchup having defeated Sharapova 13 out of 15 times. Williams has defeated Sharapova 12 straight times completely dominating the Russian.

Sharapova has dropped two sets in this tournament. Meanwhile, Williams has dropped one.
