Wilmer Flores, the New York Mets No. 4 ranked prospect, will get the call on Tuesday evening. He will make his MLB debut at the age of 22. With David Wright down, Flores will finally get an opportunity to show off his talents. 

For the past six years, Flores has been picking on minor league hitting. He is a contact hitter with a lot of promise. Flores is posting a .290 career average averaging a little over 10 home runs and 60 RBI per season. This year in Las Vegas, Flores hit .321 with 15 RBI, 86 RBI while posting a .357 on-base percentage in 107 games this season. 

Following Wright's hamstring injury, the Mets will have space on their roster. Also, Bobby Parnell, the team's closer, is rumored to land on the DL soon. Though the Mets aren't competing, Flores will give the team something to look forward to.

Let's face it, as the Mets are 17 games back and in fourth place in the N.L. East, all they have to look forward to in the remainder of the 2013 is the production of their young players. Zack Wheeler is providing entertainment, while Matt Harvey has prevented the 2013 season from being a complete loss. Harvey and Wright started the All-Star Game, which game hometown fans a chance to cheer. 

The next star the Mets have is catcher Travis D'Arnaud. A foot injury set him back, but at least the Mets were able to get rid of R.A. Dickey for a prospect that is being compared to Mike Piazza. Though a playoff berth would have been ideal, the Mets should still have exciting young players entertaining, keeping fans in their seats and in front of the TVs at home.
