The California basketball team took a big hit on Wednesday during the offseason, losing senior guard Justin Cobbs to a broken foot that will keep him on the sidelines for at least six weeks.

According to ESPN.com, the senior fractured a bone in his left foot and the recovery time is six to eight weeks for the injury The school released a statement and said that Cobbs fractured his "fifth metatarsal" and Cobbs later added on Twitter that he is preparing for a "major comeback" later this season. While Cobbs should be healed up in time for the start of the season, it could become a concern later down the line if there are any lingering effects.

Cobbs is one of the leaders on the team and he comes back after averaging over 15 points with nearly 5.0 assists last season and currently he is the all-time assists leader in the Pac-12. Cobbs has enough time to recover, as the Bears open the season against Humboldt State on October 31.
