MRSA Staph Infection: Lawrence Tynes and Josh Freeman Situation Shows Why Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are a Terrible NFL Organization (SWR Commentary)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently 0-2 this season after two awful losses against the Jets and the Saints and after dealing with the Lawrence Tynes MRSA Staph Infection, Josh Freeman's situation and Darrelle Revis being unhappy, there's no doubt that the organization is terrible and is one of the worst in football.

The Tynes situation is something all players should be looking at, since Tynes said that he will file a grievance against the team for the way they have handled his injury. According to ESPN.com, Tynes came down with a staph infection after signing with the team this offseason and after he was diagnosed, the team first placed him on the non-football injury list and then informed him of that through an email, according to his wife.

The big issue here for Tynes and other players to look at and why the Bucs are terrible is because by putting him on that list, they essentially are saying that it was not their fault that it happened and also means that his season in the league will not go towards his pension another awful move by the Bucs. If the team has proof that he got the infection elsewhere, fine, but all reports so far have Tynes coming down with the infection through the team and now he clearly is angry.

The Cleveland Browns had numerous issues with staph infections years ago, with Kellen Winslow and other players getting infected and it also helped contribute to the end of careers for some players, including Joe Jurevicius and LeCharles Bentley. The fact that those players had their careers end soon after is telling for Tynes and also shows the seriousness of the staph issues and that by designating him on the NFI, they are doing him an injustice.

This just adds to the issues already going on with the team as Josh Freeman has been terrible and he has been feuding with coach Greg Schiano and on top of that Darrelle Revis has also expressed his disappointment with the team. If things don't turn around soon, Schiano could be fired.

"If I drop a 45-pound plate on my foot while lifting weights in the weight room at the facility, it's IR,'' Tynes told FoxSports.com. "So I just don't understand how my situation is any different. I went to work, I kicked, I practiced, I cold-tubbed, I hot-tubbed, I showered for all those days there. I come up with MRSA, and it's a non-football injury? They're basically trying to exonerate themselves of this, and I'm not going to allow it to happen."
