Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox Playoff Schedule: TV Channel, Game Time for ALCS Opener Saturday

***UPDATED*** Click here for today's schedule. This article informed fans on yesterday's game.

The Detroit TIgers and Boston Red Sox are in action after a few days off. Check out the new playoff schedule with a new TV channel added to the broadcast list as the A.L. Championship Series is set to begin on Saturday evening.

Game Time: 8 p.m. ET

Channel: FOX

Due to FOX's restrictions, there will be no live stream of this game available, hence, why Postseason.tv only promotes the NLCS games. Postseason.tv allowed fans to watch the game online for a low fee and from multiple camera angles, though, no broadcast was provided. Now, A.L. fans will have the luxury of watching it on FOX, which is fairly accessible to those around the country.

The Red Sox and Tigers will meet for the eighth time this season. The Tigers took the season series and they will look to upset baseball's best team in 2013. With 97 victories, the Red Sox won more games than any other team in MLB. The Tigers finished with 91 and it was a struggle for them as they were being hunted by the Cleveland Indians.

The 2013 ALCS will feature the fourth and fifth highest payrolls in baseball. According to USA today, the Red Sox's 2013 payroll was just over $150 hundred million. While the Tigers were just over $148 hundred million this season. Both teams have some of the more familiar faces in baseball. The Tigers have the league's best hitter, Miguel Cabrera, along with Justin Verlander, Prince Fielder and Torii Hunter. The Red Sox might have a stack of role players on offense, but they are led by David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia, while their pitching is now composed of Jon Lester, Jake Peavy, Ryan Dempster and John Lackey.

It will take more than names to lead these teams into the 2013 World Series as both will look to find offensive productions, hoping their pitching can control the oppositions offense. These teams rank second and third in the 2013 postseason in batting average. The Red Sox clearly packed the punch, hitting .286 in four games, while scoring 26 runs. The Tigers finished with a .235 batting average in five games played, scoring 17 runs. During the regular season, the Tigers were first in baseball with a .283 batting average, followed by the Red Sox, who hit .277 as a team.

So the pitching staffs knows it has a lot of work to do in the next couple of days. Luckily, the Tigers and Red Sox again finished behind one another in team ERA. The Tigers were second, posting a 2.86 ERA in five games, while the Red Sox had a 3.03 ERA in four games.

Which will dominate this series? Tune into FOX to witness the action live as the Tigers and Red Sox hook up in Game 1 from Fenway Park at 8 p.m. ET.
