The New York Knicks are coming off of a tough loss and play on the road against the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena on NBATV and it starts up at 7:30 pm ET after the team lost to the Orlando Magic in double overtime and the team continues to struggle in the second half with just 21 wins and 34 losses and they play against the Mavericks next.
The game against the Hawks comes after a very long and disappointing loss against the Magic that saw the team fall in two extra periods and that was despite 44 points from Carmelo Anthony. The team could not get it done against one of the worst teams in the league and Anthony led the way with another 40 points game and 11 rebounds and now he will try and get things right on a back to back. The team picks up again very quickly on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks and that will be at home at Madison Square Garden.
The Hawks come into the game at 25-29, while the Knicks are averaging 97 points per game and they are ranked 11th in the league in defense in points allowed. The team is 27th in rebounds and 25th in assists and now the team needs to start turning things around for any chance of getting into the playoffs. The Knicks flirted with an Iman Shumpert trade at the deadline, but the team basically played it safe and they may now buy out Metta World Peace and Beno Udrih to make some changes.
The Hawks are coming off of a loss against the Detroit Pistons and they next play at home against the Chicago Bulls. The team is scoring 101 points per game and they are ranked 19th in points allowed and first in the league in assists per game. The Hawks got 23 points from Paul Millsap last game and now they host the Knicks.
