The St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks have been battling all season in the central and now they will face off on Wednesday night in an NHL game from STL and the Blues come in with 101 points to lead the league, while the defending Stanley Cup champions are looking to go back to back and the game starts up at 8 pm ET and streaming from the NHL.com website from the United Center.
The Blues have been playing some great hockey the past few weeks and adding Ryan Miller has paid off big time and now they are looking to push the Blackhawks farther back in the division standings with a positive result on the road on Wednesday. The Blues come into the game with 101 points and 47 wins and they have been one of the best overall teams stat wise this season and they have shored up their goalie situation with Miller, who has been great since coming ofver the team is coming into the game after a victory against the Jets, while they next will play on the road against the Flyers.
The Blues are one of the highest scoring teams in the league and they come in with over three goals per game and they are ranked third in goals against and third in power play percentage, while they are second in the league in penalty kill percentage. Last season the team had high expectations and lost in the playoffs and now they will get the chance to try and make up for that this season. T.J. Oshie is leading the team in scoring after his Olympic heroics and they are hoping that carries into the postseason.
The Blackhawks are Stanley Cup champions and they come in after an overtime loss against the Flyers and they next will play against the Carolina Hurricanes and that comes as the team has 39 wins and 93 points this season. The Hawks may not have enough time to catch the Blues in the division and they come in as the highest scoring team in the league with over three goals per game. The team is allowing under three goals and they are in the top 10 in power play percentage, while Patrick Kane is leading the team in points this season and has been very clutch of late.
The two teams are pushing towards the playoffs in the west and with the Anaheim Ducks those three teams are considered the favorites to make it to the Stanley Cup.
