The NY Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers are playing game 6 of their NHL playoffs series on Tuesday night and the game from the Wells Fargo Center starts up at 7:30 pm ET and comes as New York leads the series 3-2 and they hope to avoid a Game 7 on Wednesday and the game is on the NBC Sports Network and will be streaming from the Live Extra website.
The Rangers come into the game with some momentum after holding on for the game on Sunday and that matchup at the Garden was a big win for the team and now they need to close things out. The Rangers have had trouble closing out series over the past couple years and the team now needs to lock things up, as Philly can get the momentum in Game 7, which would come the very next day on Wednesday and that would be a very tough prospect for the Rangers if they lose on Tuesday night.
Martin St. Louis has come on for the Rangers in the playoffs after being slow to start his career in NY and he now has six points and four assists in the series, while he is tied with Brad Richards in goals with two in the series and now the team needs to lock things down. Claude Giroux will be the focus for the Flyers and the Rangers have done a good job at shutting him down along with the Philly offense and they have blocked nearly 100 shots and now they have the chance to end things before a winner take all in Game 7.
Steve Mason is back in net and while he wasn't as sharp in Game 5 as he was in his return in Game 4, the Flyers need him to get into a groove after making 18 of 21 saves in the last game. The Rangers won game one after a great game from Richards and Henrik Lundqvist and the star had one goal and two assists while Lundqvist led the way in saves and he lost in Game two and four and now the Rangers must find a way to win on the road.
The Rangers have performed well in the penalty kill and they have three power play goals in the series and now Lundqvist will have the chance to end things on Tuesday night. Dominic Moore scored ion back to back games and he had an assist in the last game for two points and he has played well and Rick Nash is looking to step up after he had an assists in Game 2. The Rangers or Flyers will play against the Penguins next and they finished off the Blue Jackets on Monday night and now will wait for the finish of the series to see who they end up playing in the second round.
The Rangers game is the only one on the schedule for Tuesday and on Wednesday there could be three Game 7 matchup's. The Bruins and Canadiens along with the Penguins are through to the next round along with the Blackhawks and Ducks in the West and the games include the Minnesota Wild taking on the Colorado Avalanche and the Los Angeles Kings playing against the San Jose Sharks.
