Brazil and Honduras will face off in the third game of the Men's Soccer quarterfinals in the 2012 London Olympics.
Honduras, the current underdog, survived through the preliminaries in second place of Group D behind Japan with five points. They scored three goals in their three matches and only allowed two. Honduras won one game and tied two. The beat the Olympic favorites Spain 1-0, eliminating them from contention. They also tied with Morocco and Japan.
Brazil, a favorite to always win in any soccer tournaments, swept the preliminaries in Round 1 beating Egypt 3-2, Belarus 3-1 and New Zealand 3-0. Those numbers equal to a first place finish in the Group C pool, nine points, three wins and nine goals.
Brazil will look to continue advancing as they have never won gold in any Olympics.
The winner of this match will face either Great Britain or South Korea, who are playing in at 2:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. GMT.
With Spain's elimination earlier in the tournament, Brazil and Great Britain become the heavy favorites to win the tournament now. Great Britain has won two of its three matches, while tying one.
