Terrelle Pryor Rumors: Seattle Seahawks, NY Jets Workouts After Patriots, Dallas Cowboys Option After Dez Bryant Injury For WR Tryout?

Terrelle Pryor was released by the Cleveland Browns, but the WR has been working out for teams and he will visit with the Seattle Seahawks and NY Jets next. Pryor has already worked out for the New England Patriots and he is continuing to try and make it in the NFL as a wide receiver.

Pryor was brought in by the Browns this summer and he had the chance to make the team out of the preseason. Pryor dealt with some injuries and the Browns decided to move on from the converted quarterback. The Browns added Robert Turbin off waivers and that set the stage for Pryor getting released and now he has been working out for other teams, hoping to get another chance.

According to NFL.com, the Patriots brought in Pryor for a tryout, as they have been dealing with some injuries, including to Brandon LaFell. The team has Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola as the main wide receiver options and of course there is Gronk at TE. The team likely would only need Pryor for a short term stint and as things stand now, the team is not close to bringing in Pryor. The Dallas Cowboys also could be an option for Pryor after Dez Bryant was injured, but after trading for Brice Butler, that is unlikely.

Pryor started his career as a quarterback and in his time with the Raiders he showed some flashes at what he could do. Pryor has always been athletic and his size could make him a great target at the wide receiver position. Pryor showed off his explosiveness as a running quarterback and now he is trying to translate that into a skill position. NFL Media's Rand Getlin reports that the Patriots are not close to signing Pryor and that he will continue to work out for NFL teams.

Getlin reported on Wednesday that the Seattle Seahawks were going to bring in Pryor for a workout and that came after news about the Jets. The Associated Press reported the news about the Jets and Pryor will have a workout with the team in the "next week" and after that he could be close to signing with someone. Pryor did not get the chance to do much in the preseason and Pryor also could be an emergency quarterback for the team he signs with.

The Jets have Ryan Fitzpatrick and Bryce Petty healthy and Geno Smith coming back and they could look at adding Pryor as a fourth QB option while he plays WR. The Jets have Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker as their main two wideouts, but with Devin Smith dealing with an injury, Pryor could step in with his size and athleticism and give the team a depth option at the position.

Pryor is also working out for the Seahawks and it comes after he was previously traded to the team from the Raiders. Pryor was acquired and later released and he has bounced around since then. Pryor was with the Chiefs early in the year and then ended up with the Bengals, but after that he was waived and that was when it was announced that he would try out as a receiver for teams. The Browns signed Pryor, but clearly that did not work out.
