The Miami Dolphins are currently trying to figure out a way to remain competitive in free agency without being swallowed up whole by Ndamukong Suh's $28,600,000 cap hit.

Suh's cap hit alone makes up 18.57% of the Dolphins salary cap and this is becoming a problem. The Dolphins have a ton of holes in their roster and not nearly enough draft picks or cap space to cover it all. The Dolphins actually have negative cap space right now and that is largely because of Suh's monstrous deal, the second largest cap hit comes from Ryan Tannehill at $11,640,000.

With Brent Grimes aging fast expect the Dolphins to either release the cornerback or restructure his deal to help with the cap. Jordan Cameron will most likely be cut as his production does not come close to matching his $9,500,000 cap hit. Suh will need to be flexible if he wants the Dolphins to build a winning team anytime soon.

To make matters worse, Suh played in all 16 games but was wildly ineffective for a player with a $100 million contract. Suh finished the season with only 61 combined tackles and 6 sacks that is hardly a JJ Watt level performance. The Dolphins will clearly need to push these big money cap hits away from the beginning of his contract if they would like put some pieces around him to succeed.
