Tim Tebow Trade Rumors: Philadelphia Eagles Deal Unlikely As Michael Vick Signs Contract, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs Possible Future NFL Destinations

Tim Tebow is still looking for a new home and the Philadelphia Eagles appear to be off the list, as the team decided to sign Michael Vick to a one-year deal.

According to ESPN.com, the Eagles resigned Vick to a one-year deal that could be worth up to $10 million with incentives, according to a league source. Vick was previously expected to be released due to his long-term contract signed in 2011, but he now will be signed for one year and will be a free agent following the 2013 season.

The Eagles hired new head coach Chip Kelly and it was expected he would go with backup Nick Foles or find someone else, like Time Tebow on the Jets. Vick now is set to be the starter, although Kelly will address the situation in detail more on Tuesday.

Vick was scheduled to make over $15 million in 2013 after signing a six-year, $100 million extension, but that deal is now done. Last year he was a huge disappointment with the Eagles, passing for 2,362 yards, 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 10 games.

Vick was injured for most of the season, but returned for the final blowout loss against the Giants in Week 17 of the season. Now with Vick back in the fold, it appears another team is out of the running for Tebow.

The Eagles looked like a solid option due to the fact that Chip Kelly was hired as coach. Kelly runs and different style offense than is seen in the NFL and many thought Tebow could be a solid fit with him. While with Oregon, Kelly went 46-7 in four years and had the highest scoring team in all of college football.

Philadelphia had a rough season in the final year under Andy Reid, going 4-12 while losing eight games in a row at one point. The team started 3-1, but then was handed a number of disappointing defeats, including a 31-6 loss to the Redskins. The team finished the year by losing 11 of the last 12 games, winning only 23-21 against the Buccaneers in early December.

The defense was awful, allowing 27 points each game, and the offense wasn't any better, ranking 13th in passing and rushing. Tebow could have helped give a new element to the Eagles offense, but with Vick there, the team likely will not trade for him.

Tebow's options could be out west with the Oakland Raiders, who are trying to create a new image for their franchise since Al Davis passed away. The team was one of the worst in the NFL, going 4-12 in the AFC West.

The Raiders were ranked eighth in passing yards due to coming from behind so much and the team gained only 88 rushing yards per game. The defense wasn't any better, ranking 20th in passing and 18th in rushing yards per game.

Oakland opened the season with four losses in five games and ended the season with eight losses in the final nine contests, including a 24-21 defeat in Week 17 against the Chargers. Carson Palmer put up good stats but not enough wins, while Terrelle Pryor proved to be a work in progress. Tebow would be an upgrade over Pryor, as he has postseason and staring experience, but it depends on what the Raiders would want to give up.

Chances are the Jets will take a hit on the trade, since they don't have as much leverage, but they want to trade Tebow before the new league year starts. This season the Jets used him in a completely ridiculous fashion, putting him on the field for less than 100 plays, gaining less than 150 total yards. He attempted only eight passes and completed six while rushing for just over 100 yards.

Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs could also be a possibility, as the team was disappointed by the play of Matt Cassel after he signed a huge contract.
