The Arizona Cardinals made a big move for next season by acquiring quarterback Carson Palmer from the Oakland Raiders for draft picks and the team may not be done at the position, as they are looking hard at prospects Geno Smith and USC's Matt Barkley, who will have a private workout with the team on Saturday.

According to ESPN.com, Adam Schefter reports that sources said that Barkley will come in for a private workout with the team and that despite trading for Palmer the team wants to do its due diligence on all the top players. Barkley has had a number of workouts with teams, including the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns. He had a sharp pro day that saw scouts from 31 teams and he completed all but five passes.

Barkley has thrown and worked out for scouts for the first time the past few weeks since injuring his shoulder in November and he leaves USC as the leader in the Pac-12 in passing yards and touchdowns. In the deal for Palmer, the team, gave up a sixth round pick.

The team was one of the worst at quarterback last season and has Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley as the team ranked in the bottom part of the league in offense. According to ESPN they threw for 3,383 yards with 11 touchdowns and 21 interceptions as the Cardinals ranked last in the NFL.

The team signed Drew Stanton and later cut Skelton, who signed with the Bengals. The team has also been looking at Smith in the draft and based on what they have done in the past a pick of one of the young quarterbacks is a likely move.
