Jeff Bauman is one of the heroes of the Boston Marathon bombing, as this man who was seen in a photo having lost both his legs in the blast helped identify the suspects to authorities despite being in immense pain and according to a report, he has no health insurance.
According to Think Progress, Bauman helped identify one of the suspects, writing after regaining consciousness after being injured on pap0er: "Bag, saw the guy, looked right at me." He helped the FBI narrow the search and now he must venture forward as he tried to recover without health insurance. Some friends helped create a page "Bucks For Bauman!" on the gofundme.com to raise donations and they already have thousands.
The 27-year-old suffered gruesome injuries and his friends are trying to raise $300,000 for his medical expenses. The repost says that Bauman had been planning to go back to school after working at Costco and now he has a long recovery ahead of him. He was visited in the hospital later by Bradley Cooper and Patriots WR Julian Edelmam/
The suspects were chased by police and one is dead after a firefight while another is still at large somewhere in Watertown and all of Boston is basically shut down.
