NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs: LeBron James and Roy Hibbert Key Players As Miami Heat Want 1-0 Lead On Indiana Pacers In Game 1

May 22, 2013 03:12 PM EDT

The Miami Heat are ready for another championship run and LeBron James is playing at an extremely high level as the Eastern Conference finals are set to get underway on Wednesday in South Florida.

The Pacers and Heat know each other well after going through six games in the playoffs last season and this series should be just as intense, as coach Frank Vogel already got things started and he should know, as he was fined last year for calling the Heat a flopping team. The Heat have gotten solid play from their bench and side starters in Mario Chalmers and Udonis Haslem, while the Big Three have been excellent in the playoffs despite playing through some injuries.

James is coming off of another MVP season and he is looking to win back to back titles, but first he must go through a deep team in the Pacers with names like Roy Hibbert, Paul George and David West. Hibbert has been amazing throughout the playoffs and his block on Carmelo Anthony may have been the difference as the Pacers closed out the Knicks in Game 6 of the second round. Hibbert is averaging over 10 points per game and he will be a key factor on Wednesday night, as will George, who is tasked to guard James.

The Pacers played much better than the Knicks over their series and the team will be confident against Miami, as they won two of three games against the team this past season, including double digit victories at home. The team also won't be worried about playing on the road, as they have been solid during the playoffs away from home. The Heat are ready for another championship run and they will face either the Grizzlies or the Spurs.

The Spurs and Grizz played Game 2 on Tuesday and San Antonio won the game 93-89 after 18 assists and 15 points from Tony Parker, while Tim Duncan led the way with 17. Zach Randolph had a much better Game than the first one with 18 rebounds, but he couldn't put the team over the top despite coming back from a 13 points deficit.
