Manchester United has not had much luck during the transfer window after having numerous offers rejected and now the club is looking at a £40 million bid for Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas, hoping that the third time will be a charm for the club.
According to ESPNFC.com, Fabregas is the top target for David Moyes along with Real Madrid's Luka Modric and after having large bids of £26 million and £30 million rejected, the club is looking at a £40 million this time around to bring the star to Old Trafford. The star has been open to a move from Barcelona and the club has been speaking with Fabregas' reps about the possible move and the club accepting a bid.
Moyes has some options at his disposal and he had the chance to go after Real Madrid's Luka Modric again and he also feels that Fabregas is the top target. United feels good about what they have offered and it would be added on top of what was paid for the first move in 2011. Barcelona wants Chelsea's David Luiz and depending on what happens there could change this move. Barcelona has said that he is not for sale and more reports say that Manchester could go after Everton's Marouane Fellaini.
Moyes said that the club will continue to look at Fabregas and that the talks are "ongoing" and could come to a completion later down the line, although Barcelona's Gerard Pique said that club is wasting its time, as they feel that Fabregas does not want to move. United is dealing with issues regarding Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney and they have also had trouble signing the stars they want this summer, which has prompted the third bid.
