LA Lakers Rumors: Marcus Landry Gets Training Camp Invite As Brother Of Kings Carl Heads To Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Lakers are working on filling out their roster as they head into the preseason and as training camp approaches, the team has given an invite to Marcus Landry, the brother of Carl, who is with the Kings, as he showed some nice skills in the NBA summer league.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, Landry starred for the Lakers this summer and averaged 15.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in 26.8 minutes and clearly that was enough to get himself an invite into camp and now he will have the chance to make the team. The report says that the deal has a small guarantee and he comes to camp after appearing in five games during the summer with the team.

Landry previously played in 17 games for the Knicks and coach Mike D'Antoni back in the 2009-10 season and he could be reunited this season if he makes the team. His brother Carl signed a deal back with the Kings after coming off the bench for the Warriors and he is sitting pretty after getting a four-year deal worth $26 million. The Kings and Lakers both added a number of names to their team this year and now Landry and his brother could end up playing together in California.

The Lakers are trying to rebound from an awful season with Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol dealing with injuries and now Kobe is looking to come back strong along with point guard Steve Nash and new additions Wes Johnson and Nick Young.
