Aug 22, 2013 02:00 PM EDT

The Aaron Hernandez murder case has devastated the family of victim Odin Lloyd, especially his mother Ursula Ward and sister Olivia Thibou and despite the fact that girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins hasn't spoken with the family publically, they are anticipating the probable cause hearing on Thursday for the former Patriots star.

According to the Boston Globe, Jenkins has not acknowledged the victim's family and it is also not known how much she has said or time she spent with her sister Shaneah, who reportedly was dating Lloyd when he was killed. Hernandez was arrested for the crime soon after the body of Lloyd was found and he is facing first degree murder charges in the shooting. The body was originally found in an industrial park a mile from Hernandez's home and police came and arrested him soon after.

Hernandez was released by the Patriots soon after the crime occurred and questions have come up about why Lloyd was killed. Reports have said that Hernandez and Lloyd had a dispute at a nightclub, while others said it might be due to knowledge that Lloyd had about a double murder that occurred last year that may have involved Hernandez. Police have not been able to locate the gun yet in the murder of Lloyd, but they did locate the gun in the double murder after finding it during a traffic search after an accident.

Jailene Diaz-Ramos had the gun in her possession and that crime may now be connected to Hernandez. Ursula Ward, the mother of Lloyd said that she want justice and last time Hernandez was in court, the family appeared with signs and buttons supporting Lloyd and asking for justice for his murder. Two other men, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, have also been arrested in connection with the crime and Ortiza has said that WEallace told him that Hernandez admitted to the crime.

Jenkins was locked into by police as someone who may have hid the murder weapon, but after a search of her storage unit, nothing was found. Hernandez has proclaimed his innocence in jailhouse letters and he has also expressed that he misses his daughter. Search warrants were released in the case that showed police searched his home extensively and that Hernandez left at one point and was also seen with a gun on the security system. Ortiz also said that Hernandez hid guns in his basement.
