Aaron Hernandez was back in court on Thursday and the two other men in custody for the case, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace also had to face the court this week, including Wallace, who was indicted for the murder as an accessory and now things will move forward later in superior court.
According to ABC News, Hernandez was in court Thursday for a 10 minute probable cause hearing and he was formally indicted on the murder charges. Hernandez appeared with a suit jacket and no tie and he mouthed words to his family while in court as well and after the short hearing he was brought back to jail. Wallace is an accomplice in the case and Hernandez faces first degree murder charges along with other gun charges after his arrest.
Wallace is considered a friend of Hernandez's and he is charged with being an accessory after the fact to first degree murder and he could face up to seven years in prison. According to the Boston Globe, Hernandez and Wallace were indicted by a Bristol Country grand jury in the case and Hernandez could be facing life in prison without parole. Wallace's lawyer said that he would fight the charges in court and he is being held with $500,000 bail, while Hernandez has no bail.
Hernandez is in jail awaiting the Lloyd trial and he could later face further murder charges, as he is being investigated in connection with a double murder from last year in Boston. According to reports, the drive by murder occurred after a nightclub dispute and Hernandez has been confirmed to have been at the club that night. Hernandez is in jail now facing the first degree charges and some reports have said that Lloyd's murder may have had to do with him knowing about Hernandez's involvement in the previous crime.
Wallace was arrested soon after Hernandez, who was picked up the week after the body was found. According to police, they found keys with a car rented in Hernandez's name in Lloyd's pockets when he was killed and he was brought in soon after that. Hernandez is tied to the murder through cell phone messages, shell casings as well as video surveillance and Hernandez, Lloyd, Ortiz, and Wallace could be seen on video before the murder occurred. Police have searched for the murder weapon but have yet to find it and they will continue their investigation.
