The fantasy football season heads into Week 5 of the NFL schedule and there are a number of exciting games that could have some high scoring options and some players to watch includes Rashad Jennings, LeGarrette Blount, Kenbrell Thompkins, Andre Ellington, Cecil Shorts, Eddie Lacy and Julio Jones.
Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski will be out again for the Patriots and while that has been tough for Tom Brady to overcome, he already has over 1,000 yards passing with seven touchdowns, with Kenbrell Thompkins and Julian Edelman leading the way. Edelman has stepped up with over 30 catches for 319 yards with Amendola out and while the rushing attack has not been as consistent as last season, Blount has been a solid addition and he appears to be the best goal line option for the team.
With Shane Vereen out, Stevan Ridley and Blount have had the chance to step up and Ridley, who led the team in rushing last season, is first with 174 yards for the Pats. For the Bengals, Giovani Bernard and AJ Green could continue their solid seasons, as Green already has 26 catches for 300 yards and three touchdowns. The Saints and Bears is another good matchup, with Drew Brees looking to continue his strong season, as he has already passed for 1,434 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Jimmy Graham has nearly a third of that total, with 27 catches for 458 yards and six touchdowns. Brandon Marshall has been having an excellent season as well, going for nearly 350 yards with two scores.
The Oakland Raiders game was pushed back into the evening after the Athletics played on Saturday night and with darren McFadden banged up, Rashad Jennings is a solid start option, as he stepped up big for the injured back last week. The Raiders need a more consistent rushing attack and Jennings showed that he can handle the load, coming in and rushing for over 40 yards in relief of McFadden while also adding eight catches for 71 yards and that could make him very valuable in PPR leagues. He is a solid start option against the Chargers and while Jennings had only six carries through the first three weeks of the season, he had 14 on Sunday and likely will be getting a starting load on Sunday night.
Andre Ellington is quickly moving up the depth chart after the way Rashard Mendenhall has played and the Cardinals have a tough game against the Panthers, who had a bye and are coming off of a big win over the NY Giants. The team has had a nice season already from Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald has been playing well, making 21 catches for 245 yards and three touchdowns. The Green Bay Packers also have some interesting options for Sunday, as Jonathan Franklin and Eddie Lacy will be getting the bulk of the touches after James Starks was ruled out with an injury.
Franklin rushed for over 100 yards in his last game and Lacy is coming back after a concussion. The Seahawks are playing a tough game against the Colts and names like Trent Richardson and Reggie Wayne could have nice days for Indy. The matchup of Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck should be one of the best of the week and Marshawn Lynch could also put up some nice numbers.
