The Duke Blue Devils are playing against Georgia Tech in an ESPN3 college basketball presentation on Tuesday night and the ACC conference game starts up at 9 pm from McCamish Pavilion and has one of the best teams in the nation and the game will give Jabari Parker the chance to continue his great run as a freshman.
Duke comes into the matchup after a close win against Maryland and that will be the last ACC game for quite some time or possibly forever in the regular season as the Terps move and now the Blue Devils got the last win at home at Cameron Indoor. The team has been playing very well within the conference and they have just three losses on the season and 20 wins and they are ranked fifth in the nation coming into the game, while GT has lost eight in the conference already.
Parker is leading the team in scoring as a freshman and he is tops in rebounding as well and along with Rodney Hood he has Duke looking like one of the strongest teams in the country. The team comes into the game after Parker had 32 points in the win against Maryland and the team next plays against rival North Carolina and that will be on the road before they get the home matchup.
Duke comes into the game playing very well on offense this season and they are ranked 15th in the nation in scoring with just over 80 points per game and they are shooting 47 percent from the field and that is good for the top 55. The team has been solid moving the ball and rebounding and on defense the team is allowing under 70 points per game. Duke comes in having won their last three games and the loss before that was against undefeated Syracuse and that went into overtime. The team has won eight of the past nine games and they have lost just a few times in the conference.
The team has a tough schedule coming up to finish the season, but that could be to their advantage as they head towards March and the tournaments. The team plays against GT and North Carolina on the road next and then they have two home games, including another matchup against Syracuse and the number one team could still be undefeated by then before they play at Cameron against Virginia Tech. The team then plays against Wake Forest on the road and that comes after a 20 point blowout victory and then they finish with a home matchup against North Carolina and heading into the back stretch, Syracuse, Virginia and the Blue Devils are on top of the ACC.
