The NHL schedule for the 2014 season starts up on Wednesday and the TV start time for the opening night games is at 7 pm ET and coverage will be from the NBC Sports Network channel throughout the night as the hockey season opens for the 2014-15 slate and there are four games on the docket, with the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Flyers, Boston Bruins, Canucks, Kings, Sharks and Flames in action.
The NHL schedule on opening night has four games and they will start up at 7 pm ET for the first matchup. There will be two games on NBC Sports Network and the other games are from TSN and have the Canadian teams opening things up. The first game has the Montreal Canadiens visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs at 7 pm ET, which comes ahead of the second game between Boston and Philly. The Bruins will host the Flyers at 7:30 pm ET and that game will be on from the NBCSN channel.
The first four games come on Wednesday night and then the rest of the league will get going over the next two days. The Friday game has the Islanders and Hurricanes, while the Thursday slate has everyone else. Philadelphia and Boston will be on NBC and the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames will be the 10 pm ET game that night. The final game on opening night has the San Jose Sharks and LA Kings and that will be on the NBC Sports Network as well. The matchup is a rematch of the playoffs last season when the Kings came back from 3-0 on the Sharks.
The games on Thursday start up at 7 pm ET and the games early include Montreal taking on Washington, the Devils playing the Flyers, while the NY Rangers visit the St. Louis Blues. The Anaheim Ducks and Penguins is one of the top early matchups, while Ottawa and Nashville, Chicago and Dallas, Calgary and Edmonton and Winnipeg and Arizona are also on the schedule.
