Newcastle United and the Arsenal Gunners are playing live on the English Premier League schedule on Saturday and the match from St. James' Park starts at 11 am ET and is on the NBC Sports Network and streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website as Arsene Wenger and his club try and stay in third position on the EPL table.
The team comes in after getting defeated by Monaco in the Champions League set in the round of 16 and now they come into the back stretch of the EPL season. The team has games coming up with Chelsea and Liverpool and those will be very important and they come in after getting a win against West Ham in their last EPL game.
The team also has a trip to Old Trafford against Manchester United and that comes after the team hosts Chelsea and plays against Hull City and Swansea on the schedule. Newcastle will be without captain Fabricio Coloccini and Arsenal comes in without anyone injured, but they have played a lot in recent weeks and some players may get some rest. Arsenal had a tough task and they could not get past Monaco in the UCL and now they will try and stay in position to get there next season.
Arsenal has played very well of late and they have won the last five games and have only lost two of the last 15. The team has won six straight against Newcastle and the team has not won there against the Gunners at home in a long time. Arsenal actually looked good against Monaco, but what happened in the first leg dictated that they had to have a miracle to get past them and they could not do it.
Olivier Giroud has been playing better and he now has 15 goals this season and he has eight in the past 11 games and he will be key along with Theo Walcott. Arsenal has outscored Newcastle over this time and the team is looking to avoid a second straight loss at home. The team has won just one of the last five at home and the Gunners have been playing very well since the calendar turned to 2015.
