The UAB Blazers and UCLA Bruins are playing live on the NCAA tournament schedule on Saturday and the matchup is on TV from CBS and is live streaming from the March Madness website for the third round in the South region and this has two teams that pulled upsets, including Alabama-Birmingham, who stunned Iowa State in the second round.
UAB won over Iowa State and they now have UCLA on the schedule and they come in after winning Conference USA and they could be the Cinderella of the tournament. UCLA is a perennial powerhouse, but over the past couple years they have slipped and now they have the chance to make a run as well.
The two teams come in after improbable wins, as Bryce Alford got credit for a three pointer that was called goaltending for SMU. UAB comes in as the number 14-seed, while UCLA is number 11 and both teams pulled upsets and now will try and make a run into the Sweet 16. UAB has won four games in a row including tournament games and they are averaging 70 points per game this season and will try to make up for the loss of the football program for their fans.
There is a full slate of games for the Round of 32 on Saturday, with Kentucky playing against Cincinnati, Ohio State against Arizona and Georgia State taking on Xavier. NC State will play against number one Villanova, Utah matches up with Georgetown, while Arkansas and North Carolina play at 8:40 pm ET Butler and Notre Dame play the final game of the night and that will be on TBS.
UCLA's win over SMU was a controversial one to be sure, but the call was made and now the team is trying to get into the Sweet 16. Alford had 27 points, none more important than the three at the end and now the team will try and get it done on Saturday.
