Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul suffered a fractured finger injury in practice this week and he will likely not play against the Charlotte Hornets in the preseason game on Wednesday in Shanghai. Paul did not play on Sunday and NBA.com reports that Paul will be re-evaluated before the next game for the team.
Paul and Austin Rivers both suffered injuries while in practice in China and Paul could be out until the team returns stateside, according to ESPN.com. The injury to Paul is not considered to be serious and Pablo Prigioni stepped in on Sunday to start for the Clippers. Prigioni played 30 minutes after stepping into the starting lineup and he had five points, seven assists and five rebounds. Blake Griffin played in the game and had 13 points and Doc Rivers said after the game that he was not concerned about Paul's injury.
The Orange County Register reports that when Paul is re-evaluated on Wednesday, there is a chance he could return to game action if the finger looks good. Paul played in all 82 games last season.
