Chelsea Transfer News: Roberto Di Matteo Not Worried About His Future as Pressure Mounts on Manager

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is not concerned about reports he could be on the verge of being fired, after poor form and an alleged dressing room bust-up put pressure on the Italian manager.

Di Matteo could do no wrong late last season and in the beginning of the new season, taking the Blues to an unbeaten start in the Premier League, while looking solid enough in their quest to defend their Champions League title.

However, the now famed November slump has brought everything back into perspective for the Blues, even if they might have managed to stay alive in Europe thanks to a last-gasp winner from Victor Moses against Shakhtar Donestk a fortnight ago.

A loss to Juventus, however, could out a huge dent on the Blues' chances of qualifying for the knockout rounds, which would make Chelsea the first ever team not to make the last-16 while defending the title. Di Matteo, however, is not too worried about his future, instead choosing to concentrate on the job at hand, which is to get at least a draw in Turin on Tuesday.

"I'm not thinking about that," he told reporters. "I'm preparing for the game and the team for Tuesday, and have important decisions to make about that.

"We are very confident we can have a good game and, hopefully, a good result."

Reports suggested there had been a row between players in the dressing room after Chelsea's shock 2-1 defeat to West Brom in the English Premier League Saturday, but Di Matteo, while not denying such an event, chose to play it down.

"It's important that we communicate with each other, and the players express themselves," he added. "I've always encouraged that.

"They need to have belief in themselves, and that's the most important aspect.

"We work together and, at the moment, we're all in it together and believe we have a good group, a good team, and are pulling together.

"There was frustration on Saturday because of the result and this is normal when results don't go your way.

"We owe ourselves a performance and anything can happen, we've proved in the past that when it counts our players can be relied upon."
