The Women's Singles tournament has a really special matchup awaiting as Sloane Stephens takes on the great Serena Williams in the quarterfinals at the 2013 Australian Open. The action won't begin until 12:30 p.m. EDT/8:30 p.m. ET. If you can't watch the game, check out the live stream available.

As much as Williams deserves all the attention for being the most dominant female tennis player of 2012, Stephens is the one many will be watching. For those tuning into simply watch Williams, prepared to be blown away by her young opponent.

Stephens is only 19 years old. She is coming off her first full season competing in grand slam competitions. Stephens has been active in Women's Singles since 2011 when she participated in the U.S. Open and was bounced in the first round of the tournament.

Since then, she has participated in five straight grand slam tournaments. Her most successful performance, before this Australian Open outing, came during the 2012 French Open where she missed the quarterfinals by one match. Stephens made it all the way to the 4th round in that tournament.

Unfortunately for her, she will face a red hot Williams that has been unforgiving since getting bounced from the French Open in the first round. Williams won the final two grand slams at Wimbledon and in the U.S. Open and squeezed two gold medals between those two runs. She was an absolute monster in the second half of the year.

Williams has been the face of American tennis. It will be interesting to see if she can carry the torch following the end of Williams' career.
