Super Bowl Recipes: Tacos on the Menu for Variety as You Watch 49ers vs. Ravens

Feb 01, 2013 04:07 PM EST

Think of it as serving your visitors sandwiches, but a bit classier and they can do their own work saving time and allowing you to actually watch the game. Check out the recipe of ingredients necessary to wow your crowd on Super Bowl Sunday.

The great thing about tacos is that you can please a large group of people. Some people don't eat certain types of meat whether it's due to health, religious or personal reasons. You can play it safe and prepare a little bit of everything or survey your guests to find out exactly what they like.

The preparation can be fun since you can ask your guests to show up early and help you prepare the dish. You can discuss Super Bowl picks, who you like or dislike and go over all the Manti Te'o drama that has unraveled and captivated the media in the past month.

If you prefer to have total control of your kitchen, then make sure you wake up a bit earlier so you can make sure you have all the ingredients necessary to make this delicious dish.

This recipe is specifically for chicken, but you can adapt it to different kinds of meats.

1 shredded rotisserie chicken (or just chicken breast), taco seasoning, can of chili seasoned diced tomatoes, black beans (undrained), yellow corn (drained), tomato paste and salsa.

This recipe takes about eight hours to prepare and it's sufficient for 6-8 people. Click here for the Chicken Tacos recipe from Simpledish.com

As we mentioned earlier, it's important to survey your guests as fish tacos are also possible to make. Here are the necessary ingredients for that recipe. This one is a bit creative so you don't have to visit the fish market.

30 breaded frozen fish sticks, vegetable oil, 10 corn tortillas, shredded red cabbage, tartar sauce and salsa. Click here for step by step instructions for this finger-licking-good plate.

Tacos allow your guests to serve themselves and control their own portions while allowing them mix and match what other toppings to place on their tacos.

Good luck with the recipes and as always, have fun making your dishes and enjoy the game.

Warning, in the midwest there were some people who fell sick after getting food poisoning from eating ground beef.
