The NFL combine has hundreds of players coming from all over the country to work out for NFL scouts and since many are still young, they can make mistakes and bad decisions, which is what two players did when they left their hotel room trashed and littered with feces.
According to Yahoo Sports, two players left one of their Indianapolis hotel rooms littered with trash, toothpaste on the mirror, urine and feces. Nothing was broken in the room according to officials, who did not give the names of the players, but the official said that one was considered a first round draft pick by many teams and now could fall out of the first round. One report said that the "incident could affect both players' stock."
Jeff Foster runs the combine and he said that at least 10 teams called him afterwards to do due diligence on the players and that a number of others have contacted him about it. He said that garbage and partially eaten food was left on the bed and while there were also feces, the two players who are registered to the room denied that they did it.
Heading into the draft the incident could be a red flag for some teams and could cost players millions. In the past many players had incidents before the draft, but it's not usually at the combine, like Alec Ogletree, who was arrested for DUI earlier in the year.
"I can confirm that a room was left in an inappropriate condition and we're disappointed by both players who occupied the room," said Jeff Foster. "There was no material damage to the room; otherwise we would be pursuing further action and really be trying to get to the bottom of the situation. It's just very disappointing, and the people we feel the worst for are the people at the Crowne Plaza who had to clean it up."
