The Atlanta Falcons went through a scare, but they buckled down and defeated the Seattle Seahawks 30-28 to advance to the NFC Championship game. Matt Bryant provided the magic with a 49-yard field goal to win the game.
Quarterback Matt Ryan gave the Falcons a huge cushion throughout the game. He finished the game with 250 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.
He hit Tony Gonzalez and Roddy White for the two touchdowns. Michael Turner finished with 98 rushing yards. However, though the Falcons dominated the first half of the game, the Seahawks did not die.
The Seahawks came back from a 20-point deficit and took the lead with :31 seconds remaining in the game. Russel Wilson finished the game with 385 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a game where their rushing was completely stopped.
Zach Miller finished the game with 142 yards receiving and a touchdown, while Golden Tate went for 103 and a TD.
The Falcons' defense didn't show up in the second half, by Ryan rescued the team and captured his first playoff win with a late-game rally.
They started at the 20 and wound up all the way at the 31 yard-line in just 23 seconds. Bryant came and in put the game away with his field goal making it almost impossible for the Seahawks to catch up.
Wilson went for the dramatic Hail Mary, but the pass was intercepted by Julio Jones in the end zone.
The Falcons will meet the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game next weekend.
